Interview with Grant, Will, Deshawn and Wes

JM: Did you have regular access to telephones?
Grant: no limited time and your family had to have $$$ in oorder to get the service
Will: Yes
Deshawn: No we had something like pay phones through telecom. You would have to punch in your code for it to work.
Wes: yes

JM: What types of charges applied for calling people? How much money would you guess the average inmate spends per week on phone calls?
Grant: exhoribant, cost prohibtive for most inates, I did a year with only one phone call to my family only by the kindness of a case worker
Will: Don't remember (I used collect)
Deshawn: 20 mins for 15 dollars I think it was, but the inmates that had people on the out can spend up to probably 100 dollars a week maybe more.
Wes: 50.00 dollars a week

JM: Did you need to buy phone cards to call out?
Grant: no but you had have an account with documented njumbers
Will: Don't remember
Deshawn: No your family would have to add telecom to there regular house phone or add telecom to there cell phones.
Wes: no

JM: Did the jail screen your calls?
Grant: of course always looking for criminal behavorior or intent
Will: Yes
Deshawn: Yes they would plus you would hear a recording on the phone they would tell you if you add a 3 way that it would hang up.
Wes: yes
