Sentencing

Interview with Freya, Jen and Cathy

JM: How long was your sentencing for?
Freya: 30 days in jail, of which 23 days were suspended, 7 days to be served in county correctional facility followed by 7 days at a multiple DWI offender center.
Jen: 6 months.
Cathy: A year in total-90 days in Strafford County, then release on GPS electronic monitoring, 4-8 at the State Prison in Goffstown suspended for 10 years, 2 years probation.

JM: Did you spend time in a holding cell after your sentencing? If so, what was that like? If you didn't where did they they take you instead?
Freya: no, sentence didn't begin for almost 4 months
Jen: Yes, several. 1) holding cell in courthouse before transport to Rockingham County DOC. 2) Kept in booking cell at the Rock for 1 night. 3) was tranferred to Strafford County because Rockingham DOC has no facilities or accomidations for female prisoners-spent next night in booking cell at Strafford....All three were cement 4 X 8 cells with metal tiolet and sink. Bed consisted of 1 inck thick piece of foam on floor. Also strip searched in all three locations.
Cathy: Did not spend time in a holding cell at the courthouse. I was allowed to drive my car over to the jail after being sentenced. In booking, I was placed in a holding cell with another female and we were kept there for processing from 10am till approximately 7pm.
