Pre-sentencing

Interview with Sam

JM: Tell us about the pre-sentencing process:
Sam: I sat in med lock and had to wait out my pre sentencing and sentencing. It was cold..so cold. inhumanly cold. it wasnt commfortable at all. defintiely the worst part of the experience. At least they fed you but then again who want to eat when the space smells like shit.

JM: Did you have police stop by your house for questioning? If not please give us details on how you came to be arrested.
Sam: I was about to go to a meeting and there was a knock on the door. I opened it once learning it was the police. They arrested me at that time. I had no idea they were coming..hell I had no idea i was going to be arrested...or was in jeapardy

JM: What was court like? Please give as many details as you recall.
Sam: I was lead in to the courthouse still wearing the orange jump suit. We went over the case, which was a child support issue. I argued that I had made payments and only didn't at the request of my ex...but judge didn't want to have it and soon I was sentenced to 9 months

JM: What were your original charges? What did you end up being convicted of?
Sam: I was arrested for not paying child support.
