JM: How often could you receive visitors? Lisa: When I have visited people in jail, I think
there are two times a week that I was able to go. Bill: dont know Ron: Two 1 hour visit time per week, unless the block
was on emergency lockdown, or disorderly lockdown. Cindi: There are different visiting hours depending on the
block. But I was allowed visitors morning and
evening, and up to 4 visits a week. Holly: Once a week you could recieve visitors at the jail
and they had to be approved prior to the visit.
JM: Was the check-in process lengthy for those who came to see you? Lisa: The check-in process was a cinch. Ron: I wish I knew, see, I was in jail. Cindi: I did not ask them how long it took, I do know they
have to schedule 3 days in advance and that they had
to have ID on them. Holly: They said that it did take a long time sometimes to
get checked in at the jail and it took a long time
on my end to get them approved for visitation prior
to them visiting.
JM: What was the visiting environment like? Lisa: Loud, stale, boring for kids, the booths didn't
look clean but the person inside is always glad
to see whoever comes and visits. Ron: Sad Cindi: It was basically like a skype call. I sat on a
screen with a telephone on it in the dorm, and my
visitor sat on the other side of an identical screen
in what I assume was the visitors lobby and we
talked through the phones, and were able to see
eachtoher on the screen. Holly: It was done through a video system, which I thought
was awful. The visitor had to come all the way to
the jail just to sit and talk to me on a video. It
was hard to see them and hear as it was done in the
main room in the cellblock.
