Interview with Milles, Preston, Lauren, Rosa and Dallas

JM: Did you get off early based on good behavior?
Milles: yes i got three days off for good behavior. i earned the time off for staying out of trouble in jail.
Preston: No, I was serving a measure 11 which is day for day sentence. It`s similar to the DENNY SMITH LAW
Lauren: Yes off of my prison sentence. A law passed within a few months of my stay there and it was to add 10% moree good time to eligible inmates. I saved an extra 43 days off of my sentence.
Rosa: No I didn't get off early because of good behavior
Dallas: I got a little time off for good behavior actually.

JM: What is the most time off you can receive for good behavior?
Milles: i think it is one day off for every ten good days. i'm not really sure how it works. i was more interested in just doing my time.
Preston: Generally INMATES WITH GOOD BEHAVIOR IN MULTNOMAH COUNTY JAIL CAN GET UP TO 8-DAYS OFF 90-DAYS GOOD BEHAVIOR OR 10% OFF SENTENCE
Lauren: In multnomah county a person is allowed to get up to 30% off of there total sentence for good behavior.
Rosa: You can get like 30% of your time off
Dallas: I'm not sure anymore what the most time off you can receive. It's like 9 days out of 30 days you can get off or something like that.

JM: What types of actions do you need to avoid in order to get time off? Did you ever witness somebody losing time off for good behavior?
Milles: you need to stay out of fights you need to keep your cell clean every day you need to listen to jail staff you need to adhere to inmate rights and responsibility handbook
Preston: For starters to receive good time credits the judge has to grant it. Then an inmate will have to avoid confrontation with guards and other inmates.
Lauren: You just need to follow the rules and treat officers with respect. Yes, many women would end up in the hole, and when you are sent to the hole you are defamatory getting some of your good time taken away.
Rosa: Um anything that will get you In trouble like fighting, Sex, drugs, not listening to guards, causing ruckus, paraphernalia, contraband, anything that's not allowed or illegal
Dallas: The types of actions you need to avoid in order to get time off are fighting, failure to do as ordered, sexual misconduct, and having contraband. Yes, I witnessed a lot of people losing time off for good behavior.
