Interview with Kristen, Renee, Chad and Dennis

JM: How long was your sentencing for?
Kristen: It was 12-24 months, but I had a RRRI which meant I could get out in 9 months
Renee: 11 and a half to 23 months, with a tail of 9 years probation.
Chad: I was originally sentenced to 6 months of probation, but was given a 1 - 6 month sentence when the probation was revoked for me catching other charged.
Dennis: 90 days for the 2nd d.u.i. that ran after the four months i spent in the county prison so all together 7 months with the stipulation that upon release from the prison i had to report to the Butler Veterans Affairs rehabilitation program for 90 days.

JM: Did you spend time in a holding cell after your sentencing? If so, what was that like? If you didn't where did they they take you instead?
Kristen: yes, both times. The holding cell is the worse. There is only a metal bench and a toilet in the room and you are in there for hours, so the only thing to do is think, so it is VERY depressing. You are in there alone, which is exactly how you feel.
Renee: I did spend time in a holding cell while waiting for the others to finished. There everyone compared their stories and sentences. Some inmates where leaving as soon as they got back to the prison, some like me were given county sentences, and others were being sent down state. I was sentenced with a girl who shot and killed her boyfriends, she received 18 years, when she was expecting 3 years, and was very upset and angry.
Chad: The holding cells in the Erie County Court house are very small and old. They actually have bars like you would see in the movies. It wasn't that bad because you could see the people across from you, and we weren't made to sleep or eat in those cells. The holding cells in the Erie County Prison are usually dirty and have trash in them due to the number of inmates being there for short periods of time.
Dennis: yes i did it was on an upper floor of the Erie County Court House. It was very old and dirty the place stunk like urine and there were 3 to 4 people in a cell that only had two bunks. we were there for about 2 hours.
