Visitor Policy

Interview with Chris

JM: How often could you receive visitors?
Chris: Those of us at the work release facility could only have visitors on the weekends and you could only get visits during certain hours and that was only if all the spots was not taken cause they was on a first come first serve basis. The guards was suppose to go around at 12am every Sun. night with the visitation list so we could set up our visits for the next week, but it would be about 2 or 3 in the morning when they finally came around most of the time. That was hard on those of us that had to be at work at 8am on Mon. mornings.

JM: Was the check-in process lengthy for those who came to see you?
Chris: No the check in process was not lengthy at all for people that was coming to visit you. They would basically just ask your name and make sure you was on the list and then run a metal detector over them then send them in.

JM: What was the visiting environment like?
Chris: At the work release facility we had contact visits. You had tables that would sit 4 people. Your spouse had to sit across the table in front of you, but you was allowed to hold hands during the visit and hug and kiss when they came in and when they left. I think the visitation was the best part.
