Pre-sentencing

Interview with Chris

JM: Tell us about the pre-sentencing process:
Chris: The pre-sentencing process, was not all that bad. I mean considering the fact that I was even there was bad, but everyone that I dealt with during the booking process was nice.

JM: Did you have police stop by your house for questioning? If not please give us details on how you came to be arrested.
Chris: They had a warrant for me so there was no questioning. Someone tipped them off as to where I was and they came and got me. I had been living out of state for the last 12 years and the 2 warrants that they had for me was 5 years old.

JM: What was court like? Please give as many details as you recall.
Chris: Had to be transported to the court house, then had to sit in a holding cell while being shackled and handcuffed then had to go in the court room with the shackles and handcuffs still on me. The judge really didn't listen to anything that me or my ex-wife had to say.

JM: What were your original charges? What did you end up being convicted of?
Chris: I was charged with failure to pay child support on 2 accounts. The first account was for my kids while the second account was a repayment to the state of PA. Where my ex mother in law had been in PA and received welfare. My ex mother in law had custody at the time.
