Medications

Interview with Lou and Cindy

JM: Did you always have access to necessary medications?
Lou: Actually, that is the hardest thing for some guys to get was thier meds. It was like pulling teeth. It was a big hassle. Had to go through a lot of crap to get it.
Cindy: Yes, both psych meds and regular meds.

JM: How did you get your medications?
Lou: They had pill call. They would give you asprin if you wanted and you would have to take it in front of the nurse. Once a day they would do that.
Cindy: By pill line, 3 times a day, a nurse from the local hospital came in and delivered our meds and blood pressure checks.

JM: What types of punishments were incurred for abuse of drugs? Did you ever witness this?
Lou: Never saw anything like that. Although they did have lock up for guys who got into trouble.
Cindy: Um, I got sent to SAFPF, but that was my parents fault. People got off really easily in our jail.
