Inmates

Interview with Anita

JM: Did you find it difficult to get along with other inmates? Please give examples to explain why you did or didn't.
Anita: getting along with inmates is simple if. you sit o n ypyr mat abnd dont say anything to anyone. if i was a pwrsob with. less self control, the situation. may have been diifferent. i was also in a four. man cell, so that made it easier, as opposed. to gregg county. where. i was in a 48 man tank.

JM: What types of things did you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates?
Anita: just stay quiet and to myself. try not to voice an opinion. or talk about racial issues, gay abd lesbian. rights, politics. or how hard you have. it. theres always someone doing more. time than you, and they. tend to be sensitive about people with a short sentence whining. about how wrong theyve been done.

JM: Were you able to choose an inmate as your cellmate if you knew one? How often would your cellmate(s) change?
Anita: no, choosing a cell is not an option, and. actuallt gettinh in the one you want to be in is aprocess of being removes from. the cell your in until. you are rolled where u want to be.
