JM: What types of facilities were available to help pass the time? Anita: gym 3 times a week, if u want to go walk
around and socialize. no other facilities exist,
unless you count the bookcart which only
comes after an intense begging session and
will. only have books you dont care to read
available. tv was also available, channels
watched were at the discretion of the staff.
JM: Did you have regular access to the entertainment or was competition fierce? Give details. Anita: the tv was hanging on the wall in a box cage,
and all control was up to the staff, so no
competition existed. fierce. competition.
existed when good books were available. this
was a rare occasion and the fierceness was
just as friendly as it could be, circumstances
considered. lol
JM: Did you have a hard time staying in shape while in jail? Anita: i guess if i had left the cell staying in shape
would've. been easier, but i didnt. exercise. is
an easy way to pass the time but depression is
the hardest. thing. to overcome in regards. to
staying in shape..
JM: How often did you get to go outside? What did you do outside if you were allowed to? If you were not allowed to go outside what could you do for exercise? Anita: never. i wasnt allowed to go outside, women
cant be on thw trustee team and they are the
only ones that get to go.outside. exercise is
limited to the size of your cell and the extent of
your imagination
JM: Did the jail offer church services? If so, what were they like and when were they held? Anita: church service was held in a visitation room,
offerwd twice. a week and pleasant to attend, if
you got a good seat.. next to someone
interested. in church as opposed to ttalking. to
other inmates
