Interview with Tim, Sherri and Brett

JM: What else would you want a friend or family member to know if they have a loved one going to this jail?
Tim: Inmates are abused and neglected many times by the guards. There is no help from the guards when we are in trouble, and they gas us for no reason. Suicide threats are taken as jokes, and medication is not distributed properly.
Sherri: Stay away from Jackson. If in protective custody request from an outside source that you are out into medical. It's safer!! Also if there is anyway you can get money to someone to put money on your books do it try to eat something off commissary.
Brett: they need commissary for sure I know it's very expensive but if they don't have it they will go very hungry and be prepared for a 2or3 hour wait to see them for visitation

JM: If somebody knows they will be serving time in this jail what is your advice to them?
Tim: Try to take a vocation if you can, bury your nose in a book or work on art, even if you can't draw. Stay out of the way, stay away from the gangs, stay under the radar from the guards, and expect to be denied by the board of paroles for no reason.
Sherri: Good luck and keep your mouth shut no one is your friend and your better off alone. Attend church if you are actually allowed to. AA alanoon or any other service or class. Read books!!
Brett: Stay to yourself do exactly what the guards say don't get involved in any one else's problems try to stay away from the bigger cells all the number 13 cells and have some one leave you some commissary money you will need it

JM: Please list any other jail or rehab facilities you have been to.
Tim: Lubbock County CRTC (rehab) (the following are because inmates in Texas are always moved around several times before going to their actual unit when sentenced to prison): Middleton Unit - Abeline, TX Dick Ware Unit - Colorado City, TX San Saba Unit - San Saba, TX Robinson Unit - Abeline, TX Huntsville - Huntsville, TX (for release)
