Meals

Interview with Shelia

JM: How many meals did you get per day?
Shelia: I got three meals per day.

JM: How would you rate the food? Please give details of why.
Shelia: The food tasted good but was usually cold by the time it made it to the pod. The tea and coffee weren't sweet and beans were served several times a week. Dessert was usually good just shouldnt put peanut butter on the cake. Breakfast was my favorite meal especially the pancakes. Besides being cold the food was good.

JM: Did you have any favorite/least favorite meals?
Shelia: I didnt like when they served hot dogs, white bread, rice, or hominy. I didnt like having to eat cold food.

JM: Were there any other snacks offered outside of meals? What was commissary like and how expensive was it?
Shelia: If you wanted snacks you got commisary. Commisary was higher than the prices in the free world but it wasnt to rextreme. The food choices were good and I was able to purchase snacks that I like and would eat at home. The ramen noodles on commisary are the best noodles I've ever eaten.
