Sentencing

Interview with Scott, Elna, Todd and Guy

JM: How long was your sentencing for?
Scott: Eight years at thirty five percent ....probation and drug court
Elna: I was sentenced to stay overnight.
Todd: 9 months
Guy: 2 6yrs sentences which made it 12yrs did 5yrs on probation

JM: Did you spend time in a holding cell after your sentencing? If so, what was that like? If you didn't where did they they take you instead?
Scott: Yes they packed us in a small holding area while we waited forthe bus to take us back to the jail. There was only one toilet for about fifty people and was set for only two flushes every hour. It was miserable and very unsanitary
Elna: Once I plead, we were fed lunch in the courthouse jail and then driven back to the county jail. I was back in my pod for maybe 15 minutes before my release.
Todd: the holding cell is a cramped smelly place that when full of prisoners is very noisy and dank..with the smell of urine, feces and flatulation..among various other body odors
Guy: yes...find somone that you probably aren't going to like and that stinks. go to your bathroom leave your light on sleep, eat, shit, there with them always there.caged like a animal and always watch you back
