Meals

Interview with Randy

JM: How many meals did you get per day?
Randy: We were given 3 meals a day, along with a snack before bed time.

JM: How would you rate the food? Please give details of why.
Randy: The food was surprisingly pretty good. They actually cooked it there, and gave us stuff like pizza, tacos, chicken, and soup. It was always hot and filling. I never complained about the food. Sometimes, we would get extra trays, and that was awesome. Food was the best thing in there.

JM: Did you have any favorite/least favorite meals?
Randy: My favorite meal was the chicken stew. It was filling, and they gave you a pretty good sized portion of it. My least favorite was this rice and chicken combo. It did not taste very good.

JM: Were there any other snacks offered outside of meals? What was commissary like and how expensive was it?
Randy: Once a week we could order snacks such as candy, chips, soda, and popcorn. It was all pretty cheap, and was great to snack on while in your cell. Nothing was over $2.00, which was reasonable.
