Visitor Policy

Interview with Henry

JM: How often could you receive visitors?
Henry: You recieve one visit a week that up to three people can attend. You can also have one pastoral visit a week thats seperate and can happen at any time, which works out good if you have a friend or family member thats a part of a church.

JM: Was the check-in process lengthy for those who came to see you?
Henry: Not really. You just have to show photo ID and tell them who you are to visit. Once you sit in the lobby and wait for them to get the inmates situated you get moved back to the visiting area. You also have to leave your cell phone and anything else thats in your pockets with the officer on duty at the check-in desk.

JM: What was the visiting environment like?
Henry: Awful, unless there aren't many other inmates that have a visit at that time too. It's a very small room and they don't have phones, just holes in the glass, so you have to talk pretty loud in order to communicate. So if you get five inmates all sitting next to each other with ten visitors on the other side it can get so loud that you won't even be able to hear what your visitor is saying.
