Visitor Policy

Interview with Travis and Grant

JM: How often could you receive visitors?
Travis: The visits could be scheduled as often as possible, unless there were too many visits which could happen but usually not.
Grant: twice per week for minimum security and once a week for maximum security housed inmates

JM: Was the check-in process lengthy for those who came to see you?
Travis: Yes it took about 40 minutes from the time the visitors came to the time they got to visit me. The actual check-in was about 15 minutes but they had to arrive thirty minutes early.
Grant: no not realy but the wait time usualy was because of the large amount of visitors waiting to be called and processed before time to visit

JM: What was the visiting environment like?
Travis: There were separate stalls each with a window between the visitors and the inmate. There was a phone on both sides, which could be screened. The visiting time was about 30 minutes. I did not see much point in visiting, however it was somewhat interesting I suppose. I did feel better afterwards.
Grant: it was held in the gymnasium so extremely crowded , loud and annoying even at times.officers always watching you and inmates being nosy by trying to see who you have coming to see you , plus if some one else has a bad visit they may become upset and want to fight
