Interview with Ford, Miss T, Reta, Julie and Hillary
JM: What clothes could you have brought in to wear in the jail (underwear, socks, etc.)? Ford: The blue jumpsuit or two piece complemented with
the orange underwear and the ever popular orange
socks. yes the orange socks. Quite popular. A
pair of shower shoes was provided for footwear.
Not really much of a selection going on. Blue and
Orange was the landscape of color. Miss T: We were required to wear a jail issued uniform. Reta: light to medium blue 2 piece outfits with ugly orange undershirts
and open toes sandels with brown/orange socks. everything
imprinted on front/back in big huge letter VCSD in case you
escaped. Julie: We all wore the same thing and were given the
same thing. Hillary: my own underwear for sure, bra,a pair of sweats,
a tee shirt,a warm hoodie and my own blanket
JM: If you had a set uniform, what did it look like? Please be specific about each piece of clothing issued to you. Ford: Blue top blue bottom. Orange all around
underneath. Miss T: Yes. A white tshirt underneath a blue smock. blue
pants and blue canvas, stringless shoes. Reta: see above Julie: Orange and blue. Orange socks, Orange shirt,
blue pants, blue sweater, huge underwears and a
sportsbra. Oh! and blue sandles to walk around
in. Very lose clothes, I hated it, But it
IIIISSS jail. Hillary: the uniform looked like scrubs something a nurse
would wear, exept thick, old and they were between
a blue grey color,orange socks,orange plastic
looking slippers,an old beat up support bra, and
white cotten underwear,i was also lucky to get a
sweater
JM: Were there any assigned clothes in high demand that an inmate should look for when getting clothing assigned? Ford: The clean ones were popular and if you got
something that fit that was a bonus. Lots of ill
fitting gear. Just a mess.
Miss T: Good socks were in high demand. Reta: newest not worn out clothes. socks without holes. Hillary: yes, i didnt know at the time but
sweaters, because it would get really cold in the
cell
JM: Was the clothing different between men and women? Ford: The clothing to my knowledge was the same for
both men and women. Miss T: I don't think so. Reta: never saw the mens clothes Hillary: im not sure what the differnce was besides the
under garments i think everything was the same
