Meals

Interview with Ford, Miss T, Reta, Julie and Hillary

JM: How many meals did you get per day?
Ford: Three meals a day. This was the high point. The food was varied and plentiful in my opinion. Three hot meals a day
Miss T: 3
Reta: 3 meals aday
Julie: 3.
Hillary: we got 3 meals a day.

JM: How would you rate the food? Please give details of why.
Ford: The food was filling and reasonably tasty. Milk in the morning along with coffee.
Miss T: I thought the food was pretty good actually. I just wish we would have eaten later at night, as I got hungry a couple of hours after dinner.
Reta: not for human consumption
Julie: -10000000 Awful, but I'm picky. I would rather starv than attempt to eat mystery meat. Ugh.
Hillary: i would rate the jail food on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the best. i think i would have to give them a 4. The food does not look like anyone put any effort into making it. yes i do understand its jail and they probably feel the inmates dont deserve anything good, but geez not only does it taste bad but it also looks awful

JM: Did you have any favorite/least favorite meals?
Ford: I liked the breakfast burritos and the dinner taco boats. I did not enjoy the chipped beef on a biscuit. Really did like most of the meals.
Miss T: My least favorite meal was probably breakfast.
Reta: all of it was gross
Julie: I didn't have a meal. They most I ate was a piece of garlic bread, and 1 Friday we were given a giant brownie. I stuck to lettuce most of the time.
Hillary: i cant say anything was really my favorite or tasted great, but if i had to choose it would be the oatmeal and spagetti. the meals that were my least favorite were eggs and milk

JM: Were there any other snacks offered outside of meals? What was commissary like and how expensive was it?
Ford: NO snacks outside of the meals. You could purchase sweets and such through canteen. The selection on the canteen was limited.
Miss T: If you had money to buy commissary, you could buy snacks. Otherwise, no.
Reta: you can buy their over priced snacks if you had money on books
Julie: Yes, you could order commesary. I got a poptart but it took a couple days to even recieve it.
Hillary: no snacks at least not for free. the commissary only came around once a week so if you were new and you missed you were screwed. the commissary menu was ok and the prices were hiked up somewhat.
