Interview with Ben and Katrina
JM: Did you get off early based on good behavior?
Ben: I got off early because of gain time. That's a
Florida rule.
Katrina: In Florida you get automatic 5 days off a month.
JM: What is the most time off you can receive for good behavior?
Ben: They just take off half your sentence as long as
you stay out of trouble is all.
Katrina: On top of the state laws, if you're a trustee
thats even 5 more days.
JM: What types of actions do you need to avoid in order to get time off? Did you ever witness somebody losing time off for good behavior?
Ben: Don't talk back. Don't get into fights. Don't
start trouble. If you get written up then they
can add days to the time.
Katrina: Just stay out trouble. If you want to be a
trustee, you fill out a form and as long as
you're not a violent offender or on a 50K bond
they'll let you be a trustee.
