Interview with Harry, Qtip, Hanna, DoneMyTime, Linda, Missy, Josh, Alex, Gary, Greg, Charlie, Melissa, Harley, Billy and Jimmy
JM: Did you get off early based on good behavior? Harry: No, this usually only applies in prison. Qtip: Nope Hanna: I think if you have a felony and you are attempting to receive two
for one which is rewarded by the jail, then good behavior is taken
into account. DoneMyTime: don't know Linda: NO TIME SERVED.
Missy: NO I DID NOT. Josh: Yes. I only served 8 of the 10 days. Alex: No. I was cooperative and friendly but that did
not have an effect on my stay. After all, it was
not a long stay to begin with. Gary: allways do get off with good behavior. i am there to
do my time and get out. Greg: no Charlie: No, because I was not doing time when I was in jail,
I was waiting to be sentenced the entire time I was
in there. Melissa: I was released early but, I have no idea why I was
released early. I was very cordial to anyone I
spoke to within the jail, including the nurse,
inmates, an inmate serving breakfast, the guards,
the sheriff who transported me from the visitation
center down to booking, the cops present while I
was being booked, and the guard taking my finger
prints. Be very respectful, but do not try to
befriend them. I believe this helped because
people are not usually very cordial to these
people. Harley: yes i did get good time for good behavior...
stay out the way Billy: YES I DID GET GOOD TIME 4 MON OFF THATS WAS GOOD. Jimmy: yes i got off for being good time . yes
JM: What is the most time off you can receive for good behavior? Harry: I'm not sure. Qtip: I dont know Hanna: I am not sure. DoneMyTime: don't know Linda: I HAVE NO IDEA. Missy: NONE. Josh: In Cobb County, GA, if an eligible offense, one
may earn 2 for 1 starting after the 5th day of
incarceration. Gary: 2 for 1 day Greg: dont know Charlie: I am unsure of this. Melissa: I have no idea. Harley: 3 mon for good time Billy: 4 MONS OFF FOR GOOD TIME Jimmy: 4 mon off for good time
JM: What types of actions do you need to avoid in order to get time off? Did you ever witness somebody losing time off for good behavior? Harry: Again, not sure. Qtip: Dont get wrote up Hanna: Get written up by the jailers. This might be due to fighting,
contraband, anything that attracts negative attention to you. DoneMyTime: getting into fights Linda: NO FIGHTING. STAY ON THE GUARDS GOOD SIDE.
Missy: FIGHTING AND DOING THINGS THAT YOU KNOW YOU
SHOULD'NT BE DOING. Josh: The Inmate Handbook lists Minor Offenses and
Major Offenses. If a Hearing Officer finds a
violation, an inmate may lose commissary,
visitation, "good time credit" or be transferred
to a higher security level pod or prosecuted.
Offenses range from beating on the walls, failing
to appear for count (5:10 a.m. and 5:10 p.m.
daily), making false statements, possession of
contraband, refusal to obey an order from staff,
sexual activity, fighting, etc... Charlie: I never witnessed anyone getting out early for good
behavior, but I did witness many times when time was
added to people's sentences based on bad behavior. Melissa: I do not know the actions one needs to avoid in
order to get time off. I was told the girl who
caused the fight was being sent to solitary
confinement which is called "the hole." I am unsure
of what happened to the other two women who were
beat up, but they were removed from the pod as well. Harley: no fights cant get in know trouble at all stay
too yourself listen too the officers do what u
told too do thats all u have 2 do Billy: NO FIGHT , STAY AWAY FROM PEOPLE THAT WAS
SMOKIN, FIGHT AND MORE OTHER THINGS . JUST STAY
TOO OTHERS U KNOW AND DO WHAT U WAS TOLD AND U
WILL BE OK.. Jimmy: fight stealin . i seen it all really they all
