Medications

Interview with Trisha, Jared and Lucia

JM: Did you always have access to necessary medications?
Trisha: Yes, they did have good medical care.
Jared: Yes a med cart came daily.
Lucia: it was available once the doctors were contacted

JM: How did you get your medications?
Trisha: I was on psych meds. They would come around every morning and night with the med cart. I had to pay a copay for the meds. I didn't have money on my books so they just kept track of my co-pays. I owed them about $1000 when I left because I didn't have money on my books for the meds.
Jared: I didn't not take meds but they would come through with the cart line you up like kinder garden and crush the pill so you can't share.
Lucia: my mother brought in my medications, and they were given to me two times a day at medication cart. in the morning and after dinner. along with my contact solution.

JM: What types of punishments were incurred for abuse of drugs? Did you ever witness this?
Trisha: You get at least 30 days solitary lock down and loss of other privileges. I used meth once in there and it was mailed in. I didn't get caught. You are not allowed to smoke cigarettes.
Jared: O I didn't witness it it see any one have a drug problem while I was in there but I like I said I I read a lot of books a and player cards.
Lucia: i never witnessed anyone abusing drugs, or giving them out to people who did not have a prescription to them. but i believe the punishment would be getting time in the hole.
