JM: Did you always have access to necessary medications? Ted: They gave medications every morning and every
night if you needed it. They had doctors there
but you had to sign something to see the doctor.
You wouldn't go right in and see him that unless
you were deathly sick. Then they would probably
take you to the hospital. Lisa: yes but didnt was there services Tania: only if you had the medications brought in. i did
not have the necessary medicaitons personally Thomas: Yes but only by doctors orders
JM: How did you get your medications? Ted: You have to go to a cart, you would be called out
to take your meds. Lisa: no didnt need any was fine just need rest and
sleeep and pray and get out of there and smile Tania: the nurse would come to the block three times
daily to give medications or check blood sugars,
ect.. if approved by the doctor. Thomas: The nurse would carry them on a cart nd went from
cell to cell and dispensed them at the door as
needed.
JM: What types of punishments were incurred for abuse of drugs? Did you ever witness this? Ted: They would probably give them another charge if
they got caught with it. Lisa: prisoner also had problems with there meds or
wanted more meds and stuff like that and just
wannt to be sence all the time Tania: i witnessed people not swallowing medications and
selling it to other inmates. you would get the
medicaiton taken away or have to have a nurse
watch you swallow it and check Thomas: Depending on the infraction, but always solitary
confinement and if applicable new charges would
occur and yes I witnessed this a few times
