Medications

Interview with Viktor, Veronica and Paula

JM: Did you always have access to necessary medications?
Viktor: I never needed them. They have a medication round twice a day though.
Veronica: yes you could see the medical but it cost 5.00 a visit and medication was 5.00 for how ever many days they prescribed it.
Paula: You could see the nurse or doctor if they prescribed you mediacation you paid for it.

JM: How did you get your medications?
Viktor: N/A
Veronica: a nurse would come to the pods and hand it out to the people on her list only. that's it
Paula: A nurse came up to your pod and handed out the medication to the people it was prescribed to. Like whenever it was time for it.

JM: What types of punishments were incurred for abuse of drugs? Did you ever witness this?
Viktor: I never saw any drug abuse while locked up. On New Years Eve in Chase County, a bunch of guys made some hooch and got caught. The whole pod was locked down for a couple days.
Veronica: never witnessed this but if you did anything other than take your own meds. they would not give you anymore meds.
Paula: If you got caught doing anything with your meds that you wasn't suppose to do. They would liquefy them and you had to drink it right in front of them
