Visitor Policy

Interview with Bruce and Elvira

JM: How often could you receive visitors?
Bruce: Twice a week via video conference. but once I was moved to work in the kitchen I could get a visitor everyday. And it was face to face through glass.
Elvira: You can receive visits 2 days a week. There was 2 different times on that day that someone could visit you.

JM: Was the check-in process lengthy for those who came to see you?
Bruce: I was told that it went pretty quick. maybe a 10 to 15 min process. It depended on how many people were there to visit other inmates.
Elvira: Yes, they have to get there early so they can insure that they get to see you. Then they have to sit and wait till the time to see you.

JM: What was the visiting environment like?
Bruce: While still being housed over the old police station it was video conference and it was in a room with video monitors But once I was moved to work in the kitchen I could get a visitor everyday. And it was face to face through glass. We talked over a phone and there really wasn't much of a time limit. We told the COs when we were done. It was a lot better that before
Elvira: The most that I ever heard the compliant to be was that there was lots of kids and parents just letting them run around while they talked. Besides that they never complained only to say that it takes forever to see you for a total of 15 to 20 minutes. Then it is loud and sometimes arent able to hear and have to repeat each other.
