Interview with Lowell and Ray

JM: What clothes could you have brought in to wear in the jail (underwear, socks, etc.)?
Lowell: We could wear only certain colors of sweat panst and sweat shirts. solid color boxers, socks, robes.
Ray: We were only allowed to bring in socks underwear sweat pants or sweat shirts and t-shirts and only certian colors like orange, brown, red blue.

JM: If you had a set uniform, what did it look like? Please be specific about each piece of clothing issued to you.
Lowell: they were ugly clothes. it was a pair of brown pants that had elastic at the top. the shirts were brown and a v-neck and were short sleeved.
Ray: it was brown the pants were elastic at the top with no pockets. teh shirt was a vneck with no pockets either. plain as possible.

JM: Were there any assigned clothes in high demand that an inmate should look for when getting clothing assigned?
Lowell: I really didn't pay attentoin to that. I didnt care. I didnt want to get myself in trouble to have clothes that inmates fought over.
Ray: problaby sneakers. even though we couldnt have ones that cost more than $50. people would go to visit and swap sneakers out with one of the visitors so they had better sneakers than another inmate.

JM: Was the clothing different between men and women?
Lowell: I didn't see any of the women inmates I dont know.
Ray: NO the women wore the same type of uniform we did.
