Meals

Interview with Lowell and Ray

JM: How many meals did you get per day?
Lowell: we got breakfast, lunch, and dinner
Ray: 3 meals a day. no snacks

JM: How would you rate the food? Please give details of why.
Lowell: Its disgusting. There really nothing that tasted good. The food was all low grade and the cheapest stuff they could buy. I really couldn't eat any of the food. I just had to since I had noting else to eat at times unless you wanted to starve. Everything was boiled and just had no flavor.
Ray: It was very disgustinge. only a few things were edible. there was never enough, you were given small porptions. They had me on a diabetic diet so I was restricted to what i ate. the food wasnt' seasoned at all. i didnt' eat much of it and would just eat from what i ordered on commissary.

JM: Did you have any favorite/least favorite meals?
Lowell: No I didn't really like any of the food. Once in a while we go to order out. that would be my favorite.
Ray: No i didnt i hated the chicken the most. it seemed liked we ate it almost everyday and it was so unflavorful.

JM: Were there any other snacks offered outside of meals? What was commissary like and how expensive was it?
Lowell: There were no snacks offered. You could get alot on commisary. some stuff was reasonably priced while other stuff was too expensive and I didn't bother ordering. Most of the stuff iwanted was on commisary if not my wife would send me a package.
Ray: NO only what you bough on commissary. It depends on what you ordered like ramen noodles and chips and stuff was cheap. it was the same price if you bought in the store. there was other stuff like summer sausage that was too expensive.
