Sentencing

Interview with Richard, Dave and Jon

JM: How long was your sentencing for?
Richard: I was placed on probation for six months. The chief probation officer released me months earlier because I always tested negative for drugs, payed off all fines that I owed and and got my community service finished as soon as I could.
Dave: 5 months in jail and 2 years probation
Jon: 1 year 8 months with 90 day substance abuse treatment.

JM: Did you spend time in a holding cell after your sentencing? If so, what was that like? If you didn't where did they they take you instead?
Richard: No I never spent any more time in jail. After presenting I was released on a 5000 dollar bond on the condition that I appeared for court. I did. I had to drug test once a month and preform community service.
Dave: I did spend about a day and a half inside the holding cell. It was very terrible with no space and nothing to sleep in but the ground and a blanket.
Jon: Yes I was put in a holding cell and it was a numbing experience. I was held downtown Grand Rapids, Mi in the city lockup.
