JM: What clothes could you have brought in to wear in the jail (underwear, socks, etc.)? Rachel: SOCKS, BLACK AND WHITE STRIPE JAIL OUTFIT.
PLASTIC SLIPPERS (NOT SIZED) Paula: Only underwear and white t-shirts and socks were
allowed to be dropped off. All other clothing
was provided by the jail Lindsey: You could of brought all white underwear, all white
socks, and all white bras with no underwire in it
JM: If you had a set uniform, what did it look like? Please be specific about each piece of clothing issued to you. Rachel: BLACK/WHITE STRIPE TOP AND PANTS. YOU WERE NOT
EVEN NECESSARILY GIVEN THE SAME SIZE EACH WEEK
FROM LAUNDRY. Paula: Our uniform was a black and white top and bottom
with Boone County Jail printed on the back.
These were exchanged for clean ones twice a week Lindsey: Yes we had a set uniform and it was black and white
striped. It was also probably the most ugliest and
bulkiest jail uniforms I have ever seen.
JM: Were there any assigned clothes in high demand that an inmate should look for when getting clothing assigned? Rachel: SOCKS AND UNDERPANTS WERE NICE, BUT YOU HAD TO
BY THEM FROM THE COMMISSARY. NOT SUPPLIED. Paula: the only thing some inmates would request is a
set of "New" uniforms. Lindsey: There are not any assigned clothes in high demand
that an inmate should look for when getting clothing
assigned.
JM: Was the clothing different between men and women? Rachel: NO Paula: Yes, women wore an all yellow uniform Lindsey: The clothing was not different between the men and
the women.
