Good Behavior

Interview with Rachel, Paula and Lindsey

JM: Did you get off early based on good behavior?
Rachel: NO. They would not even let me go outside into the yard.
Paula: Not at the county level. However once I was sentenced I did immediately earn good time based on conduct, having an inmate job, and statutory good time.
Lindsey: No I did not. I sat in jail until my mom finally felt sorr for me from me cring to her ever week during our visits and bonded me out. Good behavior only applied to people who were in there for several months anway.

JM: What is the most time off you can receive for good behavior?
Rachel: ZERO.
Paula: 60 days per year by staying "write up" free. 60 days per year by working: 5 days per month 90 days per every year sentenced
Lindsey: I never looked into it because it wouldnt have applied to me because I was not in there very long.

JM: What types of actions do you need to avoid in order to get time off? Did you ever witness somebody losing time off for good behavior?
Rachel: MISBEHAVIOR.
Paula: If you can avoid fights by keeping busy and limiting yourself to just 1-2 "friends" you should be able to earn and keep your good time. I did witness inmate fights that would result in loss of good time.
Lindsey: I did not really witness somebod getting time off, but I heard the trustees were the only ones who would really get time off their sentence for being s trustee.
