Interview with Joe and Matt

JM: What types of facilities were available to help pass the time?
Joe: they had pool tables ping pong tables basket ball courts a lot of weight machines they let you go to the library to check out books they would let you go to different church services they had aa and other programs like that and then there was always tv and cards
Matt: all you had was lifting weights, movie time jacking off in bathroom playing spades which I hated dominoes and a game of chess other than that you could read a book brush your teeth and give yourself a haircut shower and shave or listen to the radio or write a letter.

JM: Did you have regular access to the entertainment or was competition fierce? Give details.
Joe: well they had a lot of people in the jail so certain blocks had rec on certain days so it might have been three times a week or so but once up there it was hard to get to anything no one liked to share so if you got on something you didn't get off
Matt: you had a mexican tv or a black person tv but never had a white person tv you usually had to watch tv with the beaners or the niggers and what they wanted to watch or you were just shit out of luck white man has no chance in prison

JM: Did you have a hard time staying in shape while in jail?
Joe: no all you have is time to work out like push ups sit ups work out with weights when you can
Matt: I had a hard time because all they fed you was potatoes and all they do is make you fat

JM: How often did you get to go outside? What did you do outside if you were allowed to? If you were not allowed to go outside what could you do for exercise?
