Meals

Interview with Clayton, Darryl and Kristofer

JM: How many meals did you get per day?
Clayton: we received three meals a day with no snacks between
Darryl: breakfast and lunch and dinner
Kristofer: you got 3 meals per day everyday

JM: How would you rate the food? Please give details of why.
Clayton: the food was ok but i wouldnt eat that stuff if i wasnt locked up and had a choice
Darryl: on a scale from 1 to 10 . 1 being the worst food I have ever eaten and 10 being the best . Negative 1. ass o rama food . no season , no taste . it was like eating lumby water . I was hungry a lot . Cryin shame
Kristofer: the food was the very basics to survive. it was never quite enough. it was mostly carbs, like rice or beans and only a little meat. Usually no vegatable. but you did get a peice of fruit in the morning. i was always so hungry that it didn't much matter and i still ate everything.

JM: Did you have any favorite/least favorite meals?
Clayton: i liked chili the best and the spaghetti was the worst
Darryl: Breakfast I guess . You could have toast and jelly ,.. not to hard to fuck that up . Pancakes were a treat because they stick with you a little longer ..
Kristofer: sure my least favorite meal was this slimy peice of meat they called turkey, with a disgusting gravy on it. My favorite meal was pizza, but we got that once a month and it was like personal little microwaved pies.

JM: Were there any other snacks offered outside of meals? What was commissary like and how expensive was it?
Clayton: there were no free snacks offered and the commissary was extremely expensive more than outside
Darryl: There were snacks and there were vending machines . you were allowed to have dollars for snacks in D Hall. I did not have any money , visitors or commissary . I had to bum a smoke when I got out
Kristofer: yes outside of the 3 meals a day they had commissary. it was standard, peanut butter, jelly, tuna, tortilla rolls, chips, pretzels, sausage, beef jerky, condiments the best food was off of commisary for sure.
