JM: What types of facilities were available to help pass the time? Nicole: at Taconic Correctional Facility i had to jobs
one in the mess hall where the inmate at their
breakfast, lunch, and dinner. i helped make the
meals washed dishes sweep and mopped floors
cleaned tables. and i also went to school took a
business class. at Bayview Correctional Facility
i also worked in the mess hall. went to the gym
JM: Did you have regular access to the entertainment or was competition fierce? Give details. Nicole: well there you had time for rec meaning going
outside and sometimes you had movie night also
there was time where you could play cards or
watch tv and at Bayview Correctional Facility you
also had time to go to rec or go to the gym and
go to the beauty shop.
JM: Did you have a hard time staying in shape while in jail? Nicole: at Taconic Correctional Facility it was easy
because you had to walk every ex if you lived in
building D and you got called to go to the clinic
that was a long walk there and back because the
clinic was in building A.at Bayview Correctional
Facility was a budling that was stringht up and
down there was 7 floors with rec on the roof so
if you lived on the 5 floor you and wanted to go
to rec on the roof you would have to go up floor
flights of stairs then after rec go back down
JM: How often did you get to go outside? What did you do outside if you were allowed to? If you were not allowed to go outside what could you do for exercise? Nicole: at Taconic Correctional Facility like i said you
walked so thats how i stayed in shape but when i
was put in Bayview Correctional Facility it was
easy that was stairs where ever you went
JM: Did the jail offer church services? If so, what were they like and when were they held? Nicole: yes you had that option and they offered every
serive you can think of and church was held just
like the church on the outside
