Interview with Kathy, Cameron, Norm, Arturo and Isidra
JM: What else would you want a friend or family member to know if they have a loved one going to this jail? Kathy: That they need to accept collect clls as that is
a way for them to communicate, also for them to
put money into their account so they can buy
other things they may need or what Cameron: we all make mistakes and people need support it's
good to know you have someone on the outside that
cares for you and about what your going through
if these people think you don't have no one they
will try to treat you any old way Norm: It is important to get money and send extra
clothing into the inmate as soon as possible. It
allows the inmate to get settled and buy the
basics need to get through the time. Also, it is
best to go to the jail as a sentenced inmate,
avoid being an unsentenced inmate awaiting trial
or sentencing at all costs. Arturo: that it will cost them a lot of money to live
comfortable while at this facility, letters and
visits do a lot to help inmates get through the
days of bordom Isidra: Stay out of jail. I have heard too many stories about peopke
dying by the hands of a officer. They will set you up lie on you
and swear on their grave that your tge liar. They pkay
favoritism towards certain people. They are neglectful. Their
disrespectful.. man its not the place to be
JM: If somebody knows they will be serving time in this jail what is your advice to them? Kathy: Be of good behaviour, stay clean out of trouble,
help others when you can it goes a long way, try
to stay busy most of the time as time will fly by Cameron: remember the most important thing is to do your
time and get on with your life don't feed into
these officers they WILL put their hands on you
and the inmates are no better Norm: Think of good books or magazines to help pass the
time. Its only county jail so don't make it more
or get involved with the nonsense that others try.
Do your short time and get free. Arturo: to prepare your financial standing and mentally
prepare your self for a very unpleasant
experience you will have way too much time to
think and if you are not ready you will have a
ruff time Isidra: Stay to yourself. Im not saying don't concregate and talk but im
saying be smart don't allow other peoples problem become
yours. Don't go in doing a certain amount of time and end up
doing more. Stay out tge way mind your businessand keep your
business your businees. Too msny people looking for a early
release
