Interview with Charles and Nick

JM: How many different blocks were there?
Charles: There were cellblocks. Twenty guys to each tier with 4 or 5 floors. Two guys to a cell.
Nick: 5 or 6

JM: Did they have names? If so, what were they?
Charles: They just gave them numbers.
Nick: Juvy,female,workers,mental health and 3 general population where they try and separate the trouble makers.

JM: Which types of inmates were housed in the different blocks?
Charles: The trustees were the privleged, those that work in the kitchen, they were always housed in seperate cellblocks. For the rest the violent were kept away from the non-violent offenders and the sex offenders were put in protective custody.
Nick: Pod 8 you can earn points and program points and receive a Skype telephone call or get a radio and headphones Pod 7 general population and mostly the trouble makers Pod 6 general population Pod 5 mental health Pod 4 lock down(admissions) and workers Pod 3 Juvenile Pod 2 female

JM: What do you remember being the nicest and worst parts about the different blocks?
Charles: I don't think there was anything nice there. The food was horrible; it was not cooked like they way you have it cooked at home. The coffee was horrible. But even worst then all of that was the solitude. You can be on a tier full of guys making all kinds of noise and still feel completely isolated.
