Meals

Interview with Will

JM: How many meals did you get per day?
Will: 3 wonderful meals per day.

JM: How would you rate the food? Please give details of why.
Will: The food was actually really good compared to other facilities I have been too. They would also give you four slices of bread with most dinner meals and some lunch meals, which you could save up to use later with whatever commissary you decided to get. Some of the food was actually really good, I recall the spaghetti being good. A lot of it I was told was pre-prepared and came in large bags and that they didn't have much prepping to do so they really couldn't screw it up. But in the end, they gave larger portions than most facilities, although a huge part of that is in the form of pasta, rice, and/or bread.

JM: Did you have any favorite/least favorite meals?
Will: I enjoyed the spaghetti, because it usually came with a lot of meat sauce and it was flavored and spiced in a way that made it edible if not enjoyable.

JM: Were there any other snacks offered outside of meals? What was commissary like and how expensive was it?
Will: They usually offered a snack at around 8pm, I believe. It could be a cookie or popcorn or something else not all that large, but it was a snack and I have not seen that anywhere else. The commissary was fairly expensive, which is to be expected.
