Interview with Sally and Marsha

JM: Did you find it difficult to get along with other inmates? Please give examples to explain why you did or didn't.
Sally: i found it easy because i helped them learn about fashion with magazines and makeup i talked to them about they kids and families and didnt talk bad to inmates about other inmates
Marsha: No I just keep to myself and mind my business. But I do admint, its defenly a scary place, you got people there with nothing to lose. But alot of the women was there for a short sentence.

JM: What types of things did you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates?
Sally: i laid low and observed for the mos part i am not a fighter by any means and i dont start trouble
Marsha: Like I said I keep to myself no eye contact. I give a serious look and I stay out there way.I was lucky that I got along. But I did witness fights with other inmates, very scary. they had hostlity and anaomity to the staff. Some being many times. Its sad.

JM: Were you able to choose an inmate as your cellmate if you knew one? How often would your cellmate(s) change?
Sally: no not at all my cellmate was already there when i arrived
Marsha: Yeah I would have if they let me,and I stay longer.I would have pick someone I get along with. It was only two changes when I was there and that was nerve reckoning. New people, New personalities.
