Interview with Kaylie, Alfredo and Rosa

JM: Did you have regular access to telephones?
Kaylie: They had 2 phones. We would get up at 6 and they would turn them on at 9 and turned them off at 11 at night.
Alfredo: We got to use the phones for one hour during the afternoon and the one hour during the evening.

JM: What types of charges applied for calling people? How much money would you guess the average inmate spends per week on phone calls?
Kaylie: When I called my mom is was like two dollars.
Alfredo: For me my family has Atlanta numbers so they paid a little over $30.00 for 15 minutes.
Rosa: the average call cost my family 7.00 which was ridiculous they weren't arrested and it was expensive for them

JM: Did you need to buy phone cards to call out?
Kaylie: No I don't think you needed a phone card.
Alfredo: No they have an automated system called paytell, it's way more expensive than a phone card.
Rosa: they did not offer phone cards you had to call collect and use paypal

JM: Did the jail screen your calls?
Kaylie: Yes, before you make the connection a voice comes on to tell you it is being remonitored.
Alfredo: Yes the jail does screen the calls.
Rosa: they said they were recorded
