JM: How often could you receive visitors? Kaylie: Once a week. Alfredo: High Point Detention only allows 2 visits a week
and it can not be the same person twice. (Lame) Rosa: 1x a week for 10 minutes and that was all and some
times if they were short handed we did not even
have it
JM: Was the check-in process lengthy for those who came to see you? Kaylie: It depended on if they came on crowded day or not.
Most often I think it took like around 15 minutes
or so. Alfredo: The check in process wasn't lengthy but I heard
from some folks that the guards were really
disrespectful (not to my visitors but to some). Rosa: no chek it ws quick they had to produce a
identification card which had to be state issued
but if you did not have one than you could not visit
JM: What was the visiting environment like? Kaylie: It was kinda big room. We had to sit on onde side
of the glass window and they would sit on the
other and talk through phones. Alfredo: The visiting environment is nothing more than a
glass wall and a telephone. Sometimes you can
barely hear because the phones are garbage and the
back ground noise from the other tiers drowns out
your conversation. They could use a little more
privacy because some inmates who don't even have
visits can just walk right by your visit and
interrupt. Rosa: you visited over the phone thru a glass partition.
it was very crowded and inmates tried to over talk
one another and the elevators were always broke so
that stopped visittion an they always seem to cut
your visits short so they could put as many on the
elevator as possible
