Pre-sentencing

Interview with Zach

JM: Tell us about the pre-sentencing process:
Zach: You sit in a holding cell with several other inmates. It is six by six feet and a mesh wire cage. The walk through the tunnel is the worst. You are shackled at the waist and ankles and feel like an animal being led to the slaughter. It is the most dehumanizing thing you can imagine besides the straight jackets in prison. That's no fun either.

JM: Did you have police stop by your house for questioning? If not please give us details on how you came to be arrested.
Zach: The DEA came to my house to offer me a deal to squel on my freinds before they set me up. I refused and they took six thousand in cash which set off a war to get it back. I did, but it only pissed them off further. In the end, ten agents witnessed my sale to the operative with video, phone taps and audio.

JM: What was court like? Please give as many details as you recall.
Zach: Horrible. You see your family there with the dissapointment in their faces. They used things my parents unintenional said to get my bond raised which upset my father. You feel like the whole world is against you and that you have little chance of ever coming through this. You look like hell because of jail and all the news cameras are there for the world to see you in your worst moments.
