JM: Did you have regular access to telephones?
Raymond: Yes, pretty much unless you were working.
JM: What types of charges applied for calling people? How much money would you guess the average inmate spends per week on phone calls?
Raymond: SOme ofthe inmates who worked in office would
usually get to use the phone for free when noone
was around. I think my calls were about $1.50
each, but I did not call much.
JM: Did you need to buy phone cards to call out?
Raymond: No, you just call collect or some jobs would let
you thier phones.
JM: Did the jail screen your calls?
Raymond: I always heard they did, but i could not say for
sure.
