Inmates

Interview with Dylan

JM: Did you find it difficult to get along with other inmates? Please give examples to explain why you did or didn't.
Dylan: Well its a jail no body likes being there. So everybodys already pissed off in the first place. Ya their were fights over the tv, over the shower, over phone. I knew alot of the inmates because how long I was there and I got moved around so much but yes I got into it a few times but mostly I got along pretty good.

JM: What types of things did you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates?
Dylan: Well if someone had a problem with someone else most of the time they would either kite out or get the other person kited out. Sometimes there all you could do is just man up take care of it yourself. because you dont want to be the one looking like a punk in jail they feed off that so sometimes theres no avoiding its either fight, kite, or be labeled a punk.

JM: Were you able to choose an inmate as your cellmate if you knew one? How often would your cellmate(s) change?
Dylan: We really didnt have a 2 man cell it was anywhere from 10 to 20 man tanks in population. Usually if everyone got along pretty good they wouldnt move nobody but one day someone may catch chain and another just come in from holdings so you have people come in go. My last tank I was in was 5 months. Before that I got moved around alot, because either I was a trustee or I had to go to lock down and they would send me to different tanks.
