Meals

Interview with Dylan

JM: How many meals did you get per day?
Dylan: you got 3 meals. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

JM: How would you rate the food? Please give details of why.
Dylan: At the begining the food was alright the trays were full different food every day. breakfast would be like flap jacks, waffles, juice toast. It was decent. I mean your in jail cant really expect steak and mashpotatoes. Then I noticed towards the end of my time it was getting worse. Trays were bad. We were getting grits and 1 toast that was it for breakfast next day we would get oatmeal and toast and they would do that every day oatmeal grits, oatmeal grits. Rumor was going around the lunch lady had to make her budget and she was running out of funds. So explained the sucky tray.

JM: Did you have any favorite/least favorite meals?
Dylan: yes my favorite was the tacos for dinner. My least favorite was some pasta stuff that taste like crap and was like chewing rubber.

JM: Were there any other snacks offered outside of meals? What was commissary like and how expensive was it?
Dylan: All there was was commissary. commissary had alot of different things. from jolly ranchers to tuna. Prices werent too bad I mostly got ramen noodles because it was cheap and filled me up. And they would do commissary once a week.
