Good Behavior

Interview with Charlie, Don and Pierce

JM: Did you get off early based on good behavior?
Charlie: No. There is no “good time” in the jail, even for the trustees. Trustees receive some very limited privileges including being able to get out of their tank for extended periods of time, unlimited access to the law library and exercise yard, and they occasionally get to go outside (escorted) to do work such as washing vehicles.
Don: no
Pierce: No

JM: What is the most time off you can receive for good behavior?
Charlie: n/a
Don: dont know
Pierce: I did time in Bell County jail and got 3 days for 1 being an outside trusty busting bricks for the old VA in temple.

JM: What types of actions do you need to avoid in order to get time off? Did you ever witness somebody losing time off for good behavior?
Charlie: n/a
Don: fights
Pierce: Resisting arrest or evading arrest will hurt you because you a considered as a runner. Also if you have a little bit of time or a misdemeanor than you can become a trustee because if you ran you would get years multiplied by years when you was only looking at a little bit of time.
