JM: What clothes could you have brought in to wear in the jail (underwear, socks, etc.)? Jerry: They don't allow any outside items unless its prescription
glasses or any medical related device. I think wedding rings
are okay. Pat: Nothing personel clothing of any kind is not
allowed period we could not even wear our hair
tie into jail they strip us naked an clothe us.
JM: If you had a set uniform, what did it look like? Please be specific about each piece of clothing issued to you. Jerry: They give you two pink shirts, two sweatshirts, two pants, two
socks, two boxers, one shower shoe. Everyone get a welfare
pack consisting of a stamp, envelope, razor, comb and soap. Pat: All are clothing was exactly the same same color
only thing different was I.N.S girls they wore
red all red county girls wore army green are
shirts was green are pants was green are socks
an panties an bras was green allthat was
different was sizes.
JM: Were there any assigned clothes in high demand that an inmate should look for when getting clothing assigned? Jerry: People like any item that is brand new because they can wash
it themselves and look nice at court or visiting, No one wants
used boxers or socks so those are always in high demand. Pat: We always looked for the new stuff like panties
or bras we could tell they was new they werent
stretched out and were fresh dyed.
JM: Was the clothing different between men and women? Jerry: The women wear green shirts and pants. The men wear
orange. The INS wear purple. Pat: The men wore Orange and the women wore green.
