JM: How often could you receive visitors? Stacy: Once a week and it went in alphabetical order
by name, and you are only aloud so many visitors. Ron: THere were two dates out of the month that people were able to
come visit me. Tom: I was allowed to have a visitor to visit me for the
two times per week.
JM: Was the check-in process lengthy for those who came to see you? Stacy: I heard it was. Ron: Im not sure. I was told that it wasnt that bad but you had to be on
time and not have any contraband or etc. Tom: I was told it was pretty lengthy, irritating, and
frustration for my visitors to sign in, waiting, and
to repeat the process unnecessary even they visited
me before.
JM: What was the visiting environment like? Stacy: It sucked you had to talk to them through glass,
you don't have much time. Ron: There was a video screen with a phone reciever connected to it on
one of the walls in the pod's open space. They let you out of
lockdown individually (at least when I got a visitor) then you went to
the screen and got 30 minutes for the visit. At which point the
screen went black and you had to lock back down. Tom: There's a visitor booth with the glass in the
middle. We can seat down and communicate through the
glass. I was given a special permission to have an
hour of visiting time rather than the thirty minutes
due to being Deaf, and use the American Sign
Language which was longer than the spoken English.
