Interview with Katrina, Rachel, Graham, Gordon, Marcus, Melissa and Andrea
JM: Did you find it difficult to get along with other inmates? Please give examples to explain why you did or didn't. Katrina: some of the females yes they pertray to be
something there not a lot of girly drama. Rachel: No,they were alright, except a few they thought they were in
control because they were there longer Graham: No I did not. There were times when i did but most
people just do what they need to and dont mess with
other people unless they mess with them. Gordon: Only the ones that have not been to CDOC. Only
the ones that have not been to CDOC. Only the
ones that have not been to CDOC. Only the ones
that have not been to CDOC. Only the ones that

to CDOC. Marcus: I wasn't the greatest person in the world myself
but I wasn't a problem. There was always one
person or another that had to ruin it for
everybody. I gusually got along with people
though until somebody really pissed me off. Melissa: No. I was not there very long. I witnessed a few confrontations,
just loud and verbal, nothing physical. Andrea: No. The people were fine. I did not actively seek out any to speak
to, but a few were friendly enough. I witnessed 2 girls get into a
screaming fight, but nothing physical and it was pretty lame. Not
dangerous.
JM: What types of things did you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates? Katrina: do some alone time which means go inside my cell
and write or read. maybe play cards. Rachel: Didnt experience that Graham: I pretty much just stayed in my cell the whole year
i was there. Or i just watched tv and didnt talk to
alot of people. but when i finally opened up then i
realized that everyone is just trying to go home and
that they dont wanna fight either. Gordon: Ignore them. Ignore them. Ignore them. Ignore
them. Ignore them. Ignore them. Ignore them.
Ignore them. Ignore them. Ignore them. Ignore
them. Ignore them. Ignore them. Ignore them.
Ignore them. Ignore them. Ignore them. Ignore

Ignore them. Marcus: I had to try really hard to keep to myself
depending on who was starting crap or not.
Sometimes I'd play cards, sometimes I'd lock
myself in my room for weeks at a time to read,
and would actually lock my door so I wasn't even
alloweed out until there was supervision to get
meals. Melissa: I didn't encounter this. Andrea: Didn't have any problems.
JM: Were you able to choose an inmate as your cellmate if you knew one? How often would your cellmate(s) change? Katrina: yes for sure Rachel: Yes Graham: I had a pretty stable cellmate and we got along so
well that we still talk to this day. My cellmates
changed on a weekly basis if not more than that. Gordon: I had as many cell mates as months I was in
jail. I had as many cell mates as months I was
in jail. I had as many cell mates as months I
was in jail. I had as many cell mates as months
I was in jail. I had as many cell mates as
months I was in jail. I had as many cell mates
as months I was in jail. I had as many cell
mates as months I was in jail. I had as many
cell mates as months I was in jail. Marcus: I had absolutely no choice of a cellmate.
Sometimes I'd have a cellmate for a week or two,
sometimes I would change or others would change
in a day or two. Melissa: I was in one actual cell in a Pod for 24 hours and had 3 different
girls in and out in that time. Andrea: No. You and they are assigned.
