Interview with Jessica, Sarah, Curt, Brad, Peter and Michael
JM: What else would you want a friend or family member to know if they have a loved one going to this jail? Jessica: You should visit them every chance you get and
write if they're in there for a long time. It's
very boring and depressing in jail and you can
never stop thinking. Company of loved ones
whether in person or on paper REALLY helps out a
great deal. Sarah: get them commissary because all the jail gives
them is a small bar of soap to wash their hair
and bodies and without being able to buy extra
food they will starve. Curt: hang in there and this to will pass. Brad: If you're able to send money for commissary
that's a good thing. Peter: Yes. Keep in constant contact with any loved one
who is incarcerated. Jail is a lonely cold place
and those loved ones will easily feel abandoned or
alone if they do not hear from you in a letter or
a visit. Sometimes just a quick letter is enough
to get someone through. Michael: Stay out of trouble, no one elses issues are worth
you doing more time. Just do your time and get
out of there. Don't cause any waves with the
officers and do as they ask.
JM: If somebody knows they will be serving time in this jail what is your advice to them? Jessica: I'd recommend that you be on your nest behavior
and be polite and curtious to EVERYONE you
encounter in that facility. Definately do NOT
repeat your mistakes. It's NOT a pleasant place
at all. Sarah: Shut up and do what they say Curt: STAY OUT OF JAIL! Brad: Just keep to yourself, don't start shit. Try to
get into the trustee programs become that helps
time go by realy quick. Peter: Yes, stay out of trouble in there and get all your
gain time. There is nothing worse than passing
your earliest release date knowing if you had been
behaving you could be with your family. Michael: Keep your chin up, read a lot, go to church, get
involved in some self help classes, get your GED,
improve yourself while you are in so that you
better yourself for yourself and your family.
JM: Please list any other jail or rehab facilities you have been to. Brad: Orange County Jail or 33rd. Peter: none Michael: Orange County Jail
