Medications

Interview with Clara, Carlos, Oscar and Lori

JM: Did you always have access to necessary medications?
Clara: no
Carlos: Yeah. As soon as you go in and tell them you're on a prescription you see a doctor. Once they know you're on the meds they decide what to give you.
Oscar: no I can not answer this any further as I don't know the procedures for this out come as I had always been in custody and am not sure what you want to know else.
Lori: Yeah.

JM: How did you get your medications?
Clara: i didnt
Carlos: Nurses would come up to window of pod door and call your name. You'd walk up, they check your wrist band and give you the pill then watch you swallow it.
Oscar: cart would roll around I can not answer this any further as I don't know the procedures for this out come as I had always been in custody and am not sure what you want to know else.
Lori: The medical staff, or nurses, would come to your cell door and give you your medications. You had to swallow it in front of them and open your mouth to prove that you took it.

JM: What types of punishments were incurred for abuse of drugs? Did you ever witness this?
Clara: i dont know.
Carlos: They would just toss you in lockdown for sure.
Oscar: not sure and no I can not answer this any further as I don't know the procedures for this out come as I had always been in custody and am not sure what you want to know else.
Lori: They would place you in administrative segregation and consider pressing criminal charges. They did not fool around whatsoever.
