JM: Which jail did you visit?
Claire: Winnebago county jail. Illinois

JM: How long ago was your visit?
Claire: 1/2 hour

JM: How many times did you visit?
Claire: several

JM: How do you go about making an appointment to see an inmate?
Claire: its bull the inmate has to scedual it, then somehow let you know of the day and time. If they send you a letter, y the time you get it, the visit is past and gone, so the only option is an expensive phone call to let ou know of a visit. If you don't have the $$$ for the call, you get no visitors.

JM: How long did check-in process take?
Claire: 5 mins to 1 hour depending on the time.

JM: Were the guards accommodating?
Claire: Most times they are respectful, but once in a while you will get one who treats you like crap just because you know someone in jail.

JM: What was the visiting environment like?
Claire: Its dirty, and loud. No privacy, talk to visitor on a low quality screen. Visits suck there, prison is much better.

JM: How long was your visit? Did the guards ever allow you to take extra time?
Claire: 1/2 hour, never a second over.

JM: What was the parking situation like?
Claire: Since its in the hood, you have to worry about bing mugged or your car being broken into. Some of the guards are dicks and tell you to take your purse out to your car. I don't leave it in my car at home, what makes those people think I want to leave it in the car in the hood?

JM: What advice would you offer to somebody who is going to visit an inmate in this jail?
Claire: watch your back, with the guards and pedestrians. You never know in Rockford who is out to rob you.
